After her Master degree at the University of Amsterdam in 1980 she specialized as a clinical psychologist, child & youth psychologist specialist level and as a supervisor/cognitive behavioral therapist.

She has worked in different institutions in the mental health field: from psychiatric hospitals to outpatient clinics.
Since 1981 she also owns a private practice in Amsterdam.

She is a post-graduate trainer in the field of Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Solution Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy (SFCBT), Positive CBT, Positive Psychology (PP) and Positive Supervision.

She is the author of many international publications on Positive CBT, SFBT, SFCBT, PP and Pos Supervision.

Besides being a clinical psychologist she is a Master of Dispute Resolution (Faculty of Law, University of Amsterdam, 2006 cum laude).
